Study Program Philosophy (Ilmu Filsafat)
Profile The Philosophy study program is one of master programs in Faculty of Humanities Universitas Indonesia that carries out education, research and community service in the field of Philosophy. There are two specializations offered to the students, (1) Philosophy of Culture; and (2) Philosophy of Law, Politics, and Economics. At the end of the study, each student conducts a research on a topic according to the specialization chosen.
Graduate Profile / Qualifications A Master of Humanities who is able to develop knowledge in Philosophy through innovative and attested research to solve the humanistic problems philosophically through inter-disciplinary or multi-disciplinary approaches which will bring benefit the human race and bring the researchers both national and international recognition.
Vision The unity of views on human and its life problems becomes the area of research in Philosophy since the beginning of the history of philosophy. The interface of philosophy and contemporary problems in science and humanities reassures the importance of a comprehensive view of the human being, nature, and culture. This point of view becomes the main vision of Philosophy study program.
Mision To generate scholars, researchers, and thinkers who are able to capture comprehensively the issue of science and society, values and ethics, as well as the construction of contemporary society, in an effort to advance humanity and to bring "enlightened thinking". In this context, the mission of Philosophy study program has always been there in unity: "comprehensiveness" (in methodology), "clarity" (in the analysis), and "sensitivity" (in the ethical attitudes).
Speciality There are two specializations, which are (1) Philosophy of Culture; (2) Philosophy of Law, Politics, and Economics.

How to Apply Bachelor (or equivalent) program graduates of accredited university (or equivalent higher education); minimum GPA 2.75 (scale 4.00); fulfilling University requirement: online registration; to pass entrance test covering document review, academic potential test and English test; to obtain TOEFL score with minimum score of 450.
Program Requirements Those who are required to take the matriculation program must take the matriculation program during 1 or 2 semesters before taking regular program.The composition of lecture is (1) Faculty Courses 6 SCUs; (2) Study Program Compulsory 20 SCUs; (3) Specialisation Compulsory 9 SCUs; (4) Final Project 6 SCUs
